Cleansing:
Carbon has the ability to absorb oil and contaminants from deep within the pores. When the laser is passed over the treatment area is targets and destroys the carbon particles, taking any absorbed material with it.
Exfoliating:
As the carbon is targeted by the laser, it blasts away dead skin cells, blackheads and effectively exfoliates the skin. The result is softer, radiant skin with reduced pore size and a more even skin tone.
Rejuvenating:
Carbon peels also target the deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production, which in turn produces firmer, plumper skin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles and leaves skin feeling tighter and glowing.
Acne and Oil Destroying:
The heat produced by carbon peels has 2 additional benefits. It reduces the acnes bacteria responsible for acne, allowing for better management of pimples and outbreaks and it also shrinks sebaceous glands (oil producing glands), resulting in less oil production and therefore reducing congestion building up in the pores. Treatments can be performed on any part of the body including the back and chest.
As with all skin treatments, carbon peels should be supplemented by a good skin-care routine and daily use of a high-spectrum sunscreen. Noticeable results can be experienced after a single treatment, but for maximum long-term results i recommend a course of treatments, 3-5 treatments with a 10 day between or so.

How it works
Lasers generate energy in the form of heat. That heat is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and the follicle; then they are destroyed. My favorite and the one I am using, the Diode 808 laser, is incredibly fast and effective. Its settings can be adjusted to suit your hair and skin tone.
Other benefits besides hair reduction
Aside from clearer, smoother skin and permanent hair reduction, laser hair removal also boasts benefits including helping to reduce ingrown hairs and less irritation of the kin. This is because the treatment encourages hair to grow straight. Hormones play a significant role in hair growth. Laser hair removal can be especially helpful in reducing unwanted hair experienced as a result of menopause or polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Many women with PCOS find that they must shave their faces, often as much as twice a day, which can lead to stubble and painful rashes. Like PCOS, the menopause can cause embarrassing excess hair growth due to changes in hormone levels.
It takes time to complete the course of treatments
If you are planning to use laser hair removal in preparation for a big occasion, then you will need to leave yourself plenty of time. It takes multiple sessions for laser treatment to have any effect. Remember that laser hair removal isn't a one-and-done situation: there are three different stages of hair growth and the laser can only knock out a hair when it's in the active growth phase. To catch all the hairs in any given area in that phase, you'll need about six sessions. How far apart those are spaced depends on which part of the body you're treating - hair growth at different rates in different areas. This means that for best results a course of treatment is advised and in general around 8 - 12 treatments are required.
Consider it as an investment
Sure, it might seem expensive compared to a pack of razors, but it could be better value for money. You will get up to a 70-90% reduction, depending on the hair and the person. You might see a few rogue hairs come back though. Removing 70 percent of the hair is a "good result" and new hairs might crop up later from that area.
Prepare your body for laser
When preparing for laser hair removal, be sure to avoid sun exposure of any kind and do not wax, pluck or bleach your hair 2 weeks before the treatment. Shave the area a day or two before your appointment. Stay clear of applying lotions, sunscreens, creams and deodorants on the area before the treatment. Some medications cause photosensitivity, check with your doctor.
After treatment
You'll have an excuse to skip your workout.
Your body will need 48 hours to recover from the laser hair removal before you should think about starting to exercise again. As you work out, the friction of your clothes rubbing against your delicate skin could irritate the treated area even more.
No exfoliating right after your treatment. Exfoliating and shaving could irritate the area.
I recommend staying out of direct sunlight two weeks pre- and post-treatment. Thing is, skin that's been tanned by the sun can't be treated because there's risk of the laser burning your skin. You need to keep the areas that have been treated completely out of the sun and wear sunblock.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE-EFFECTS?
While some temporary tingling, redness, swelling and tenderness may occur, few report side effects that last more than a few hours after treatment. These few have experienced minor bruising up to two weeks after. When compared to the side-effects and potential complications of surgical options, HIFU is a safe, effective and very well-tolerated option.
